4. #VisitChatham Bus Tour

Discover the hidden gems right in our backyard! The Chatham Chamber of Commerce hosts the Visit Chatham Bus Tour on Thursday, October 1st. It's a full day of behind-the-scenes stops at local farms, pottery studios, Carolina Tiger Rescue and more! Meals and transportation are included, and the bus leaves from Mosaic in Pittsboro at 8:15 that morning. It's a great way to celebrate the people and places that make Chatham County special.

5. Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival
Thursday, Oct. 1 – Sunday, Oct. 4 · Chatham County
Four days of music, dance and good vibes! The 22nd annual Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival runs Thursday, October 1st, through Sunday the 4th, near Pittsboro. You'll find more than 50 musical acts on multiple stages, plus workshops, crafts, nature walks and family activities. Come for a day or camp all weekend! Here's a tip: carpool with four or more and park for free. It's a Chatham County celebration you won't want to miss.

6. Sanford Fall Pro Rodeo

Saddle up, Sanford! The Sanford Fall Pro Rodeo is back this Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd, at LP Arena on Arthur Maddox Road. Gates open at 5 and the action starts at 7 both nights, with bronc riding, barrel racing and bull riding! Last year it was named the SRA's New Rodeo of the Year, so grab the family and your boots for a night of real rodeo excitement right here at home.

7. AutumnFest in Southern Pines

8. Kristen's Run Against Violence

Lace up for a great cause! Kristen's Run Against Violence is Saturday, October 3rd, at Tyler Park in Dunn, hosted by the Dunn Police Department. This 5K fun run honors Kristen Caudle, and every dollar benefits SAFE of Harnett County, which supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. There'll be food trucks, a DJ and fun for the whole family. Run it, walk it, or just come cheer everyone on!
